About the artist
Ünal Bostancı lives and works in Istanbul. He makes installations, sculptures and mixed media artworks. By aiming to reach to more inclusive societies, he develops forms that are based on subjective associations and formal parallels, which incite the viewer to make new personal connections. While playing with the perception of common memory, he produces content based on various overlapping themes and strategies in an atmosphere in which some topics such as identity, gender expression and ideology plays an important role. His first solo exhibition La Isla Bonita, BAS, Istanbul (2021), group shows include “Seduction”, FAP, Istanbul (2022); “Çark”, Karşı Sanat Çalışmaları, Istanbul (2022); Through the Window Project (2021); Mamut Art Project, Istanbul (2019); “Positive Space”, Operation Room, Istanbul (2018); “Decadence”, Pera Palace, Istanbul (2017); Timeless Palace Museum, SPOT Production Fund, Istanbul (2016).
