About the artist
Born in Sakarya in 2000 and living in Istanbul since their high school years, SYNTIA became interested in art due to their difficulties in self-expression and their feelings of detachment from their environment during childhood years. The artist, who is currently studying Stage Decorations and Costumes at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, continues to diversify their creation process and forms of expression with painting, sculpture, installation, performance art and drag. Although there are traces from all parts of their life, big or small, the general themes of the artist can be summarized as love, loneliness, existence, human nature and queer / trans experience. The variability in the style of their visual creations is a by-product of their observations and experiments on the concept of aesthetics. While SYNTIA refuses to explain their art, they also use art to make sense of life, personal guidance, hoping to inspire their audience in the process.
