About the artist
biricikseksüel emerged in January 2020 as a way to keep the artist's own sanity during the pandemic after having survived an act of violence. In this period of time, where centering one’s dreams was just as important as being an active listener, they did not want the healing to be limited to themselves. They realized that by only healing themselves, they would only heal themselves from this experience but that would not transform the sphere we live in. Sharing what they produced during their healing process to other media would not only heal themselves, but also the people around them. Since 2020, Biricikseksüel has been producing queer, non-binary, anti-normative and inclusive drawings, paintings and rantings that manifest a freer, non-exploitative and violence-free world on Instagram, Medium and other podcast media.
