About the artist
Rebecca Lillich Krüger is a performance artist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Born in Bad Soden, Germany and raised in Syracuse, New York, she received her BFA from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Program with a Minor in Writing and her MFA in Dance from Hollins University exchanging with the Hochschule für Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
In 2021 she co-founded Stichting Triplets at Broedplaats Bouw, a performance development space aiming to enrich the performance culture of Amsterdam.
Her work is invested in world-making and transformation through theatricality and the body, with an emphasis on text work, high physicality and aesthetic surrealism. Her work has been shown at Ruigoord, Frascati, Sexyland and The Grey Space in the Middle to name a selection, her collaborative video and performance project The Ladder with Ahmad Mallah debuting at Art Rotterdam.
As a performer she has worked for Antonio Guzman/Iva Jankovic, Fernando Oliveira/ANT Physical Theater, Sedrig Verwoert, Candela Murillo, Erika Tsimbrovsky/AVY K Productions, and Jort Faber to name a selection.
Aiming to meld her technical and artistic background with socio-political awareness, through many doubts she seeks to engage with work that dismantles singular paradigms in performance and invests in practices and communities that keep the heart beating.
